4 great Ballina Bars to enjoy watching the Euros
Ireland maybe out of Euro 2016, but we can still enjoy watching the footie and Euro 2016 in one or all of these great Ballina bars, Co Mayo.
Each pub has its own unique selling proposition and charm, and with the Euros final not until 10th July, contenders TBC, there’s still plenty of time to soak up the Euros atmosphere.

Over the bridge and into lower Abbey St or Ardnaree, this great traditional Ballina bar not only offers great pints, live music and entertainment, home made Boxty on a nightly basis but also five big screen TV’s showing live sports including GAA, Golf, Tennis and of course the #Euro2016. Aiden, Cathal and Mammy Betty always has a warm welcome for locals and visitors.
2. T. Breathnachs Pub, Abbey St, Ballina
Right next door to An Sean Sibin, is Tomas Walsh’s Breathnachs Bar. Tomas and brother Gerry mix the best cocktails in Ballina, the bar has three big TV screens to soak up the footie feeling and all visitors receives a warm and friendly greeting. 3. The Broken Jug, O’Rahilly St, Ballina
Great food, live music and entertainment and loads of sport, The Broken Jug is your one stop entertainment shop! Come for the carvery from 12 o’clock, stay on for your dinner from 4pm-9pm and take in all the live euro games at the same time. Not only that but with a jam packed summer schedule of live bands and music, we can look forward to the Crocked Jacks playing ‘the Jug’ during the Salmon Festival on the final night of the 17th July!
4. The Loft Bar, Pearse St, Ballina
Not your typical sports bar, The Loft Bar boasts great pints of Guinness in comfortable surroundings. A very popular place to enjoy lunch time dining (delicious homemade soup and walnut brown bread) with many locals asking for food to be continued into the evening. The Loft Bar also has a fine Bed and Breakfast, perfect location for visitors wishing to be town based. The Loft Bar has become extremely popular with Ballinas’ Polish community especially during the Euros, boasting a great family atmosphere for all Europeans to support their football team.
